The Company

Throw Away Games is an independent game development company, which opened in October 2011 in Toronto, Ontario. We currently develop small to mid-scale video games for personal computers and for mobile devices (iPhone, Android).

The Name

You might be asking yourself, "What's up with the name? Throw Away Games? Really?"

Well, to be honest, the name is a bit tongue in cheek. Maybe a bit sarcastic. We don't want to make games you'll play once, and then never look at again. Our goal is to produce quality titles that you'll play over and over again.

It's also a reminder to us to always try to do better. To not get comfortable with our current level of quality. To force our reputation to precede us. It has meaning beyond it's face value. And that's why we're called Throw Away Games.

The People

Adam Clarke : Founder

Adam has been programming for over 7 years in a large number of languages and environments, the latter half of which has been dedicated towards game development. Having attended Humber College's Game Programming course and working on a growing number of projects, he's become more than familiar with a number of gaming technologies ranging from 3D graphics and physics engines, to game mechanics and artificial intelligence. In 2009 he started working at PlayNSync, Inc., where he was in charge of developing prototypes for games and other forms of interactive media, involving 3d graphics, stereoscopic imaging, and motion based technologies. After his time there, and some personal regrouping and restructuring, he started laying down the ground work for Throw Away Games. He has also independently developed titles for the Muskoka Boat & Heritage Centre, and companies such as Empowered Games.

While not involved in game development, Adam does consultation and contract work on the side for individuals and small business.
